Groove Patrol – Community Drumline & Performance Team
The Groove Patrol is a community program created by a partnership between the Upper Darby Police Department, Upper Darby Township, and the Upper Darby Arts and Education Foundation.
The Groove Patrol Drumline will provide an after-school activity that has instruction in music, character building, communication skills, and problem-solving using the model and inherent structure of a drumline. Participants will receive weekly instruction on their instruments within the drumline ensemble, discuss and practice character development, and demonstrate their skills both in rehearsals and performances.
The Groove Patrol Performance Team will incorporate step, hip hop, drill, and dance into their precision performance and partner with the Drumline for local community performances. Character building, communication, teamwork, and problem solving will also be a core of the instruction.
Rehearsals for both groups will occur on Tuesdays (beginning Nov. 14th & ending Dec. 12th) from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm at Watkins Senior Center, Upper Darby, PA.
We invite drummers & dancers (5th grade and up) to experience this new community program at no cost for this unique inaugural session! EVERYONE MUST REGISTER!
