YOUTH SAFETY
Our Commitment to Safety
At Upper Darby Arts & Education Foundation, the safety and well-being of our young participants are at the heart of everything we do. We create a nurturing and inclusive environment where youth can thrive creatively and personally. To uphold this commitment, all staff, instructors, and volunteers undergo federal and state background checks, child abuse clearances, and annual safety training. Staff are also certified to address bullying, harassment, or abuse, and we maintain low camper-to-staff ratios to ensure individualized attention.
Our secure facilities include monitored entrances and regularly conducted fire and safety drills, alongside a comprehensive emergency plan. Participants and staff adhere to a strict code of conduct that prioritizes respect and professionalism, with zero tolerance for bullying or harassment. A certified healthcare professional is available on-site, and staff are trained to administer medications safely. Transparent communication with families is key, featuring pre-program orientation sessions, resources on youth safety, and an open-door policy for questions or concerns.
By prioritizing safety, we empower every young artist to focus on their creative journey in a supportive environment. For questions about our youth safety policies, contact us at admin@udfoundation.org. Join us for a summer filled with creativity, growth, and inspiration!
